Double leg wire rope slings are comprised of two equal lengths of wire rope connected with a single oblong link at the top. Also called 2 leg bridle wire rope slings, they’re traditionally fitted with eye hooks on each end, but as with all slings, they can be customized with different hardware as needed. The loops (or “eyes”) that connect to the master oblong are fitted with thimbles to protect the wire rope at the point of contact to reduce wear and extend the working life of the sling. A 2 leg wire rope sling generally provides better balance and load control over a single leg sling, and is designed for general lift applications where the hooks are attached directly to the load.
As with all slings, the rated capacities for 2 leg wire rope slings will vary based on the direction/angle of the pull. The type of wire rope used will also create a variation in capacities and uses. We offer 2 leg wire slings in either a 6x19 EIPS wire rope or a 6x36 EIPS wire rope; all have a Flemish eye that’s spliced with a carbon steel sleeve for superior construction. An Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) resists crushing so it’s an excellent choice for a variety of applications.
While we feature basic configurations of our two leg wire rope slings, hardware customization is always an option. Give our sales team a call at 800-404-7068

Wire rope bridles are measured by the length of the sling leg plus the end hook. The length of the oblong master should not be included in the overall measurement.
Our 2 leg cable slings are available in a variety of lengths, but can also be customized to any length you need. Give our sales team a call at 800-404-7068

Proof testing certificates can be supplied with your order for a nominal fee and must be requested at the time of order. Proof tests are performed in the factory where the sling is pull tested to 2x the vertical rating and officially recorded as proof for governing bodies. During the standard manufacturing process, only random slings during a production run are tested for compliance; in order to provide proof testing certificates with your order, every sling must be pull tested at the time of manufacture.
All of our wire rope lifting slings are inspected, certified and tagged with metal tags displaying capacity, care, and instructions.
