Similar to the flat eye & eye type 3 sling, the type 4 has a twisted eye design, making it work better in a basket hitch or choker hitch than a type 3 sling. However, the twisted configuration does not affect the work load limit or break strength, so it’s identical in strength to a type 3. This type of sling is commonly referred to as a twisted eye sling or a turned eye sling. It’s suitable for all hitches, but is recommended particularly for choker hitch application.
Also known as twisted eye slings, nylon twisted slings, or twist end nylon straps, these lift slings are available in various widths ranging from 1" to 12" wide and can be made with 1-ply, 2-ply, 3-ply or 4-ply thickness.
Another similar option is the type 3 eye & eye sling. It has an eye at each end, but its loops are not twisted. This design makes it more versatile as it can be used in choker, vertical, or basket hitches.
If you need less stretch than a nylon web sling, a polyester round sling
in a similar design is also a possibility.

Proof testing certificates can be included with your order for a small fee, but must be requested when you order your lifting sling. Proof tests are performed in the factory where the sling is pull tested to 2x the vertical rating. It is then recorded officially as proof for governing bodies. During the standard manufacturing process, only random slings during a production run are tested for compliance. In order to provide a proof testing certificate with your order, every sling must be pull tested at the time of manufacturing.
